Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Booking & Deposit

A deposit of 30% of the total tour price is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due 45 days prior to your safari start date.

• Bookings made within 45 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
• Deposits can be made via bank wire transfer, credit card (Visa/Mastercard), or PayPal.
• A signed booking agreement and completed guest information form are required to finalize your reservation.

2. Cancellation by Traveler

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to info@cariafricansafaris.com. The cancellation effective date is the date we receive your written notice. Refunds are processed as follows:

3. Cancellation by Cari Local African Safaris

In the unlikely event that Cari Local African Safaris must cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or insufficient bookings), you will be offered one of the following options:

• Full refund of all payments made
• Transfer to an alternative tour of equal value
• Reschedule to a future date with no penalty

Cari Local African Safaris shall not be held liable for any additional expenses incurred, including but not limited to visa fees, vaccination costs, or non-refundable international flights.

4. Amendment & Transfer Policy

• Tour date changes: Permitted free of charge up to 45 days before departure (subject to availability). Within 45 days, a $100 rebooking fee applies.
• Tour transfers: You may transfer your booking to another person up to 30 days before departure. A $50 transfer fee applies.
• Itinerary modifications: Minor changes can be made up to 14 days before departure. Major changes may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.

5. Refund Processing

• Refunds are processed within 14 business days of the cancellation date.
• Refunds are issued via the original payment method. Bank transfer refunds may take additional time depending on your financial institution.
• All refunds are processed in USD. Any currency conversion fees are the responsibility of the traveler.
• Partial refunds may be available for unused services (e.g., accommodation or activities) if cancelled 48+ hours in advance. These are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

• Cancellation and curtailment
• Medical expenses and emergency evacuation
• Lost, stolen, or damaged luggage and personal effects
• Trip interruption due to illness, injury, or family emergencies

Travel insurance provides peace of mind and protects your investment in the event of unforeseen circumstances that may force you to cancel or cut short your safari.

7. Force Majeure

Cari Local African Safaris shall not be liable for any delays, cancellations, or changes resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• Acts of God (earthquakes, floods, severe weather)
• Government restrictions, travel bans, or border closures
• War, civil unrest, terrorism, or strikes
• Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
• Airline cancellations or mechanical failures

In such cases, we will make every reasonable effort to offer alternative arrangements or reschedule. Refunds under force majeure are subject to the policies of our third-party suppliers.
